All Cowgirl Creations Rules will apply to each and every race at this event. Please see specific Race Rules for Slot, Futurity and Derby Races.
Futurity 2D (1 second split) Entry Fees $300 per horse (Includes Administration, arena and office fees. 2 Go’s plus Average payout) The Futurity is open to any horse which is a foal of 2015 or later (5 years & under) of the competing year. To be eligible for the Futurity, the horse must NEVER have competed in ANY barrel race, including AQHA shows, play days, novice horse events, derbies, rodeos, etc. prior to December 1 of the previous year. To do so means forfeit of any and all fees paid and elimination from the futurity. Horse may have run exhibition runs. The Futurity will be a 2D (two division event) with 1 second split determining the divisions.
Derby 2D (1 second split) Entry Fees $250 per horse (Includes Administration, arena and office fees. 2 Go’s plus Average payout) The Derby is Open to any horse which is a foal of 2013 or later (7 years & under) of the competing year. There are no rules on prior competition for the Derby. The Derby will be a 2D (two division event) with 1 second split determining the divisions.
Every entry form MUST provide a photocopy of both front and back of the entered horse’s Registration Papers or a Licensed Veterinarian’s affidavit confirming the age of said horse including ALL marking and complete description. Cowgirl Creations will only recognize the ownership declared on the breed Registry Papers. Please make sure all transfers have been processed by the appropriate breed registry and / or proper ownership records. Submission of entry form or payment of entry fees will indicate agreeance and acceptance of all rules and regulations governing this event as well as indicate that the waiver has been read and agreed to and accepted.
Liability waivers MUST be signed BEFORE you or anyone with you rides. If you or your traveling partners, friends or family have not entered online, you do not have a signed waiver Anyone caught riding without a signed waiver is subject to a $500 fine. Waivers can be found online with online entry or hard copy at the Event. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein contained it is understood that each contestant / owner waives all claims against The Glow, Cowgirl Creations, organizing body, staff, volunteers, etc. for any injury, loss of damage which may result in anyway from the operations of activities of The Glow Barrel Racing Event.
The Futurity and Derby are open to all ages and ability of contestants. Men or women under 18 years of age will be required to have a parent/guardian on site as well as sign entry forms and waivers.
All Futurity and Derby Horses will be subjected to an examination to meet registration identification and numbering. All Futurity and Derby Horses MUST be examined and Numbered at the designated times posted. Failing to do so will result in disqualification without refund. Any horse examined that is found to be of ineligible age or failing to meet registration description will be disqualified without Refund. Please see schedule for check in times.
No signs, banners or posters shall be displayed without prior approval from the Producer.
Horse/Rider substitutions will be allowed until end of examination and Numbering cut off time with a $50.00 substitution fee per change but MUST be accompanied by a vet or doctor’s affidavit confirming the individual’s or horse’s inability to compete. Any Horse/Rider that has been vetted or doctored out will not be able to compete in any other race produced at this Event. Riders may be substituted until start of each race each day with a $50 substitution fee and a signed waiver.
There are No Refunds of Entry Fees for Futurity and Derby Races. No Exceptions.

Western attire is required. Contestants must wear long sleeved collared shirts, long pants, western hat or helmet and boots during their competition and for awards presentation. Sponsor logos are permitted. Contestant must have hat on head when entering the arena. Loosing your hat in the arena will result in a Hat Fine of $5 upon retrieval. Photo’s will be taken with awards recipients. You may have an appointed representative present to receive awards. No awards will be shipped.
Not following the clover-leaf pattern will result in a no time. Any “broken Pattern” will be a no time. Including backward movement from the horse after crossing the electric eye, any crossing (or re-tracking) of the standard cloverleaf pattern, refusal to move forward or stopping, incomplete pattern, if the horse falls in such a manner that pattern is broken or crossing the eye before the cloverleaf pattern has been completed. Contestants who receive a no time, may complete the pattern at race speed or remove yourself from the arena, failure to do so may result in a $50 fine. Re-tracking or turning any barrel more than once is not allowed. You are taking the next contestants’ ground and will be subject to a $50.00 fine.
Any knocked down barrel receives a No Time.
If a rider falls off to the ground within the pattern they receive a no time. You may not re mount and receive a time nor may you remount and finish the pattern. There will be NO reruns given if a horse falls, is pulled up by the rider or malfunction of contestant’s equipment.
A horse/rider combination cannot change their draw position. You must run in the order you are drawn. There are no trades for draw. If the draw is announced incorrectly and a contestant runs out of draw order the run will be counted. Running a horse out of draw position will result in disqualification of that go. The ground will be raked, and the race will continue in the correct draw. Horses will be entered into the race management system per electronic random draw. It is the rider’s responsibility to make any corrections with Producers before the Race start. Contestants will only be called three times. If you are not in the arena and you are called 3 times you forfeit your run and entry with no refunds.
Inhumane treatment of horse(s) will not be tolerated anywhere on the grounds and will result in disqualification.
Good sportsmanship is EXPECTED at all times. Any displays of poor sportsmanship on social media outlets or in private messages/emails will be reason for disqualification with no refund and blacklisting from any future events with CC. All contestants and their family members (friends) are expected to display good sportsmanship at all times. No level of abuse toward any animal at this event will be allowed. Foul language, misconduct or abusive or argumentative comments spoken to any contestant, spectator, staff member or volunteer may result in immediate contestant disqualification with no refund of any fees, or refusal to accept an entry for the following years’ competition. Contestants are also responsible for traveling companions and family members. All decisions made by the Race Producer and their appointed Directors are final.
Every effort will be made to provide safe and even ground for all contestants. The ground will be worked every 5 runs or less as per draw order at Arena Directors discretion. A Big or full arena rake will be determined by Arena Director and will be announced prior to race start. If a barrel is severely bumped or moved off its marker it will be readjusted prior to the next contestant. Contestants can request a barrel is reset. Contestants accepting the arena as is and completing their run will not be given a re-run without Producers Approval.
During tractor rakes, horses will not be allowed in the main arena, or past the alley “wings”.
No horses are to be tied at any time in the main arena or the warm up arenas. There is No tying to any fences at Heritage Park. Please tie your horse(s) to your trailer.

All dogs must be on a leash and held or tied at ALL times outside of their trailer. Any dog disrupting the production of these races will be asked to leave. Any dogs found loose will be reported to the local authorities. Please pick up after your animals.
Entries may be revoked if payment in full has not been received, if disqualification due to poor sportsmanship, or if slanderous or legal issues are incurred by Contestant and/or their companions.
If a tie occurs where monies are involved, the monies will be divided equally. If a tie occurs regarding prizes a draw will be made and all contestants will shift into the next lower position.
Any questions or dispute which may arise during the course of the Event not covered by all of the rules will be decided and settled by the Producer and the decision will be final.
Fines for units found plugged in without RV Electric Camping passes result in $50.00 fines per day in addition to regular fees. This includes plugging into another unit.
2D PAYOUT (1 full second split)
2D Percentage Payoff: 1st Division – 60% of the pot
2nd Division –40% of the pot
1st and 2nd Go’s will each receive a payout of 30% of the pot. The Average will receive 40% of the pot. 100% of all added money will be put in the pot. Number of placing will be determined by number of entries.
Contestants may carry times over from Futurity & Derby to Open 4D races with the $80 Entry Fee. Carry Over Must be claimed on entry form (Before you run).
It is the responsibility of the Contestant to have read and understand the rules in their entirety. Not understanding rules, misunderstanding rules, not following rules, missed deadlines, or any event causing issue, will NOT be amended and may result in disqualification without refund. The Producers have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
